: User Guide Documentation
User guide documentation is an essential skill in a technical communicator's repetoire. User guides are needed for everything from computer manuals to cookbooks to directions on how to put newly purchased goods together. Without user guides, we have no directions to help us use products correctly.
The following user guides are all professional guides written for actual companies. The first two samples were written for an early online e-learning company called Financial Services University. The first guide is the standard user guide in using the website. The second guide is a customized guide for one of the company's clients, Prudential. The third guide is a user guide explaining the administrative tasks needed as an administrative assistant for the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation's Grantmaking Online program.
